INTRODUCTION:
THE ( QPSM ) IS A QUARTERLY PUBLICATION DESIGNED TO ACCURATELY REFLECT THE QUANTITATIVE SALES OF PHARMACEUTICALS IN QATAR (PRIVATE SECTOR).
THIS STUDY PROVIDES INFORMATION ON THE ACTIVITY OF PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES AND SERVES AS A STATISTICAL TOOL OF ASSESSMENT OF SALES.
OBJECTIVE:
TO PROVIDE THE PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES OPERATING IN QATAR WITH AN ACCURATE TOOL BY WHICH TO MEASURE THEIR SALES AND THE SALES OF THEIR COMPETITORS, ON A REGULAR BASIS.
METHODOLOGY:
1. SALES DATA REPRESENTING 35% OF THE MARKET IS COLLECTED DIRECTLY FROM THE MANUFACTURERS, AGENTS AND DISTRIBUTORS WORKING IN QATAR AND THEIR FIGURES INSERTED INTO THE STUDY
2. A REPRESENTATIVE SAMPLE OF (75) CHAIN AND INDEPENDANT PHARMACIES THROUGHOUT QATAR ARE VISITED ON A QUARTERLY BASIS, AND THEIR PURCHASES OF PRODUCTS REPRESENTING 65% OF THE MARKET RECORDED.
THE DATA IS THEN CODED AND PROCESSED BY A COMPUTER PROGRAME. DURING THIS PROCESS STRICT QUALITY CONTROL MEASURES ARE APPLIED. AT THE FINAL STAGE THE DATA IS ANALYSED AND THEN PROJECTED TO THE NATIONAL LEVEL.

PHARMACY TYPE (CHAIN, INDEPENDENT, POLYCLINIC …ETC.)
CALCULATION OF VALUES:
THE PHARMACY PURCHASE PRICE IS THE PRICE LEVEL USED TO CALCULATE THE QATARI DINAR VALUE.
THE PHARMACY PURCHASE PRICE IS THE PRINTED UNIT APPEARING NEXT TO EACH PRODUCT.
